Kato Paphos

The coastal resort area of town is called Kato Paphos, and features Paphos harbour, the castle and archaeological park. There are plenty of hotels and shops here, as well as restaurants and bars along the seafront. Most of the tourists stay around this area, and the most popular beach is Coral Bay which is excellent holiday destination for water sports.

Pano Paphos

Up the hill is Pano Paphos where visitors are often welcomed with flowers! There are plenty of high-end shops in this part of Paphos, as well as local markets selling fresh produce and local crafts like leather and lace. The restaurants in Pano Paphos tend to serve more traditional and local food and there is a more rustic feel to the area.

Palaepaphos

Palaepaphos is not actually in the modern town of Paphos but refers to the ancient settlement of the same name, and today is only ruins. It was the most important Sanctuary to Aphrodite in the ancient world and is found today on the edge of Kouklia, about 20km to the east. These ruins date back to the 20th century BC.
