There are two major international airports in Saint Lucia, George FL Charles Airport near Castries in the north and Hewanorra International Airport near Vieux Fort in the south. Plenty of airports across the UK offer flights to Saint Lucia with the larger airports offering flights to both destinations and the smaller ones only to Hewanorra. Direct flights take around eight and a half hours. To get the best deals be prepared to be flexible on your travel dates as well as departure airport.

Most of the resorts offer a dedicated shuttle bus to ferry you from the airport to your hotel in Saint Lucia, so you don't have to worry too much when you get there. Alternatively, the taxis are readily available and inexpensive, or hiring a car will let you be adventurous on your holiday.

Taxis can get you short distances with minimal expense but it's also worth considering water taxis which are quick and convenient for getting to out-of-the-way beaches, as well as a picturesque way to get about.
