When to go to

Spain

The weather in Spain can vary wildly across the country on any given day, and weather forecasters on the news are often busy people!

Mediterranean Area

This is the ideal European holiday destination, having the warmest weather in Europe. With hot summers and mild winters and little rainfall it's popular all year round. Highs in the summer are around 26°C with temperatures in the winter dropping to about 11°C.

Central Spain

This area in the middle of Spain has hot and dry summers, with temperatures reaching 24°C, and cold winters, with temperatures dropping as far as -15°C. As you get closer to the coast the weather becomes a bit milder in winter. Rainfall occurs mainly in spring and autumn but since the average monthly rainfall is only 40-50mm this is still the most pleasant time to visit. Some of the mountains in these areas can experience snowfall and there is even a ski resort near Granada.

North and West Spain

Summers here are warm and sunny although cooler than the rest of Spain with averages of about 19°C. The winters are still fairly mild at around 8°C but this area is considerably wetter with rain throughout autumn and winter so remember to take an umbrella!
