Summers in Washington D.C. are warm with average temperatures around 27°C in July, and winters are cold with temperatures hovering just above freezing. Rainfall is broadly the same throughout the year, with snowfall common in winter and occasional thunderstorms during the summer because of the heat and humidity.

Washington D.C.'s Tourist Season

Although the majority of Washington D.C.'s attractions are based indoors, there are two distinct high seasons when visitors particularly flock to the city; spring and autumn. The peak seasons do coincide with the best weather, but also mean the highest prices.
