Charming little place! Beautiful setting, with some pretty impressive architecture. The old fortifications are majestic and the moorish town with its little streets and lovely buildings is worth the visit alone!

Beautiful place, it's so nice to get away from the beach sometimes and see the countryside. We went for a lovely long walk and ate a picnic on the way, then went for dinner in nearby Orihuela.

El Postiguet Beach

Even in winter the weather in Alicante is great for sitting on the beach and chilling out, although sunbathing is out of the question! The sea is even ok for a paddle! El Postiguet beach was really close to our hotel and really nice.

Elche

Going to the subtropical rainforest in Elche was the best thing that I did on my holiday in Alicante (apart from working on my tan). It was like i'd been transported thousands of miles away! And the rest of the place is pretty cool too with a castle and a lovely basilica. Definitely worth visiting.
