We'd been to the Anne Frank House the day before and were hungry to know more about the resistance to the Nazi occupation in Amsterdam. Small but really interesting place.

The houseboats are a feature of Amsterdam and it's great to get to see inside one of them! The dutch are so ingenious in their use of space, they can make even the smallest boat seem like a spacious and comfortable palace. A small but really interesting stop to make!

A lovely, moving museum which really makes the story we all know so human, particularly for Anne's father the driving force behind the museum and the only one to survive. Seeing the bookcase the secret annex was hidden behind was amazing and the cramped quarters they stayed in were astonishing.
