Great friendly park, a fun place to hang out and meet some of the locals away from the main sights.

What a delightful place. There are loads of paths to follow you can just stroll about all day. We took a picnic which we ate while we lounged about enjoying the views. The 100-yr-old palm trees were one of the highlights, but it's all pretty great.

We chose to explore this former Royal Garden one afternoon. It is a huge refuge in the middle of Athens - 15.5 hectares. The Garden also encloses some ancient ruins, tambourines and Corinthian capitals of columns, mosaics, and other features and is a lovely place to spend some time.

The national gardens are a lush and beauitiful oasis away from the heat of the town. Watch out for glorious birds and stacked-up water turtles!! The odd bit of ruin reminds you where you are if the ducks get so out of control that you start to believe you must be on a duck farm!!
