I just thought this museum was wonderful. My husband had been before, before the renovations, and says it's so much better now. The collection, the displays, the facilities, all great. And the queues a lot smaller too than at some of the other big name places.

It was amazing to be here in this historic place. The museum was so interesting and I loved the Acropolis and of course the Parthenon was the absolute highlight.

For me, it's a toss up between Cairo's Egyptian Museum and this one for the best museum of ancient artefacts. I love the sculptures, frescoes and all the small details that really help to make Athenian life come alive.

A wonderful museum and almost a viable alternative to the National Archaeological Museum! Featuring items from roman times almost to the present day there's so much to see and learn. Well laid out and attractively presented too it feels like a much-loved museum.

Not your average library! It holds the greatest collection of Greek scripts and archives of the Greek revolution. Like no other library this is an absolute pleasure to explore.
