I always find the problem with holidaying in a city is the constant sense of needing to do everything, and so relaxation is forgotten. This hill combines history with relaxation. The original meeting place of the Democratic Assembly of Athens, until 5BC when the Theatre of Dionysis took over. Today, just a lovely peaceful spot with a great view, we went for a picnic lunch!

Staying in a hostel I went back after going here and was astonished that nobody else there had been up here! You don't even have to climb, there's a train-like thing that takes you! The view from the top is great and there's a nice cafe for a refreshment or two. I'd love to see a band at the amphitheatre but sadly that wasn't possible.

It's the big hill in the middle of the city...not hard to find!
