Overlooking the harbour is a museum everyone visiting New Zealand should go to, I felt I knew the history adn therefore the culture so much better afterwards, and so much made more sense. Very intersting, particularly learning about the Maori history as I was totaly ignorant beforehand.

With the largest collection of national and international art in New Zealand the gallery was also showcasing a travelling exhibition as well. Entry is free.

This is a large expanse of inner city parkland in Auckland. Its a nice relaxed spot and contains the national museum as well as the cultural and war museums. The national museum is especially worth a visit for its wide collection of Maori carvings as well as the Maori cultural performances which happen a couple of times a day.
