Wat Arun

I was totally blown away by all the architecture in Thailand, so different to that in the UK or even anywhere in Europe, so delicate, intricate and yet striking. I loved this temple the best, the spire is just so intriguing with all its glass and porclain. Try to visit it once in the night time too when it looks beautiful all lit up.

Muang Boran

This is a really interesting sight. Its located about 30km outside Bangkok and has been described as the world's largest open air museum. It's a recreation of the great buildings and monuments of ancient Siam arranged in the shape of the kingdom, with each monument in its correct place geographically. A really interesting day excursion.

Chao Phraya River

posted by ybranson on 30 November 2010 at 10:17

You can get boat tours of the Chao Phraya, which is bangkok's main waterway. The price is only 10 baht which is really reasonable and you'll see a lot of the town including great views of the grand palace and Temple of Dawn. If you can get off at Thewes, I'd really recommend it as the flower markets there are really vibrant and quite gorgeous.

Grand Palace

posted by DVC_Chris on 24 May 2009 at 03:17

Bangkok is an amazing city, with a feeling and vibe that is so different than most of the other Asian capitals. When I visited, I really enjoyed seeing the Grand Palace, as both the building itself and the grounds were breathtaking. While different buildings are built using different architectural styles, when taking as a cohesive hole, they all still seem to belong together.
