This traditional home was relocated to Bangkok to show off the way that things are done in the countryside of Chiang Mai. A really lovely quaint place that gives you a real insight into 'normal' thai life away from the Bangkok noise.

The name itself hold so much mystique, my boyfriend and I booked a tour on a whim and were amazed with what we found. Part of the 'Venice of the East' the network of canals is fascinating. Lovely boats, great sights along the riverbank, a great old feel.

We booked the tour online and were lucky to get hotel pick-up included

Bangkok is full of things to see and do but you must make time for a visit to one of the floating markets. I went to the Damnoen Saduak which was totally chaotic and so fun. I ate delicious food and bought plenty of fruit, great for a weary backpacker!

We travelled out with my husband and he had a few business commitments so we amused ourselves and this was the highlight, it went down very well with the children. the traditional thai puppet show was great, really beautiful and expressive and the puppers were exquisite.
