This is without a doubt the best neighbourhood in Barcelona. I love the care that went into the streets, the architecture and most of all the Gaudi creations. I always stay here.

Seu Cathedral

I adore the gothic cathedral in the heart of the barrio gothic! I love to hang around outside and watch the world go by as well as enjoy the amazing architecture inside and out.

From its wobbly front to the mad roof I loved this building from top to bottom! I'd not managed to see this last time i was on holiday in Barcelona and I have to say it's one of my favourites now.

Casa Battlo

This is one of those Gaudi buildings that is almost synonymous with Barcelona and would certainly stick out like a sore thumb anywhere else in the world. There doesn't appear to be a straight line anywhere on the building and the front is entirely coated with broken tiles. These add to the theme which is George slaying the dragon - the mosaics look like scales and the roof is like a backbone. What a wonderful building.

Cathedral of St Eulia

The Cathedral of St Eulia is the most important attraction in the Barri Gothic part of town. It is an incredible piece of medieval architecture with a vast vaulted nave and some suitably gruesome gargoyles. It's also situated in a lovely part of town with nearby fleamarkets and cafes.
