I absolutely adored this museum. From the moment I saw Woman and Bird outside I just knew I was in for a treat. Wonderful collection, thoughtfully laid out and some lovely other pieces for context too.

The National Museum of Art of Catalunya is a fascinating place, such a wide range of art all housed in this huge and beautiful building! It's a bit of a trip out of the centre but it's worth it. If you're there early evening stick around for the Magic Fountains too.

Barcelona is simply rammed full of amazing delights, my boyfriend and I spent a very agreeable afternoon here enjoying Picasso's works and seeing his style changing throughout the years.

Casa Battlo

It's hard to imagine a single architect leaving his mark more firmly on a city than that left by Gaudi on Barcelona. Haussman's Paris would probably be the nearest contender though in terms of sheer individual character, it really doesn't come close. The Casa Battlo would have to be my favourite of his creations and resembles some massive, obscene alien life form.

Sagrada Famiglia

Its almost inconceivable that anyone would visit Barcelona and not check out this majestic cathedral. If the though had crossed your mind though of giving it a miss, don't! The views from the towers are unmatched and the especially fine feature of this church is the craftsmen still carving and gilding away at the church's ornamentations. God only knows if they will ever finish the cathedral, but I kind of hope they don't.
