Fundacio Joan Miro

I absolutely adored this museum. From the moment I saw Woman and Bird outside I just knew I was in for a treat. Wonderful collection, thoughtfully laid out and some lovely other pieces for context too.

Parc Joan Miro

Boasting the phenomenal Dona i Ocell (Woman and bird) sculpture as well as some wonderful planting and landscaping, this park is just a joy to visit. You can also go to the Miro foundation but I prefer just to spend my time here.

Placa d'Espanya

From a grim past of public gallows and abbatoirs this square is now a really exciting place to visit. My boyfriend and I got off the tourist bus for a bit here and explored. The bullring is a fantastic structure, but i'm glad it's not been popular. The ventian towers are so like the one in venice that you feel like it's a mirage to see two, and whilst i didn't much rate the fountain I loved miro's 'woman and bird'.

Beaches/Port Olimpico

My friends and I took a break from the sightseeing circuit to go to the beach for a bit of relaxation and were astonished to spot a huge glittering copper fish in the distance. It was really cool and apparently part of the olympic complex.
