A lovely selection of animals here, with nicely tended paths and habitats, which made for a really nice and relaxing afternoon with the children. Really impressed.

Parc de la Ciutadella

A pretty big park, it can get quite busy in places but in others is really quiet. There's a bonus gaudi creation if you're looking for such things, the giant fountain, as well as the zoo which was the highlight for the kids. I loved all the plants and trees, and quite a lot are labelled which makes it feel like you're visiting a garden too.

My children really enjoyed visiting the Barcelona Zoo when we were in the city. In addition to all of the great animal exhibits and habitats, they really enjoyed seeing the albino mountain gorilla that they have there. We have been to many zoos and that, perhaps, is the most unique animal we have ever seen.
