A far more enjoyable shopping experience than the standard American 'mega mall' the marketplace is well laid out, houses a number of fantastic eateries and bespoke shops. Situated opposite the water, it also has a great comedy club.

What better way to spend lunchtime than with great food surrounded by great architecture! This famous granite and glass building boasts roman columns and a fabulous dome that you get to sit and look at when you eat your lunch. Shopping here is ok, although there are a lot of tourist-trap places and not as many artisans as when I went last time.

A girlfriend and I spent 24 hours in Boston in transit and had heard about the shops on Newbury Street. We weren't disappointed, it is like a mini Bond Street but with less chaos. The road is wide and tree lined and there are plenty of cute cafes to stop off for a coffee break.
