A calm and peaceful shore with most amenities to relax and get sun bath. Sea activities and water sports are also there including kayaks and much more. The climate is tropical and the sight of the blue water make you feel fresh and tension free. Children can also play around on the shores, but its risky out there if they go in water because of the strong wave currents. So avoid kids moving out in water. More friendly for swimmers and divers. The water is crystal clear and there are couple of local restaurants and bars situated right on the beach to serve the travelers.

The Crane

The Crane is an amazing high end resort on the southeast coast of Barbados. The main resort is an historic building set high on a cliff overlooking an incredible white sand beach- the kind you picture when you think of the perfect beach in the Caribbean! Because its set in a cove and protected by reef just offshore the beach is quite peaceful and while there are fun waves it is OK to swim-- unlike some rougher beaches on the Atlantic side of Barbados. This isn't a cheap place-- but you get what you pay for and then some-- it's just a fairy tale, sophisticated Caribbean resort with all the amenities you could want and an idyllic setting.

Just Grillin

This is a great beach side restaurant that serves authentic, fresh, local seafood. (They also have chicken.) It has an open air grill, so you can see your food being made and maybe pick up some tips! It isn't too expensive and the atmosphere is just what we were looking for.

Oistins Fish Market

It's an open air fish market where you can eat the freshest fish, cooked on the grill right in front of you. Just beautiful.

Not actually in Bridgetown but in Oistins just further round the south coast. Just off the main street in the centre of Oistins.
