The Hotel Tassel is known to be the first building designed in the art nouveau style. Its quite astonishing really as pretty much every element of the building is an innovation. Perhaps the most impressive element of the building is the grand golden staircase which is known for its whiplash patterning which became central to art nouveau across the continent.

Come along on a journey of discovery at his unusual museum. They have 80 fun and exciting hands-on creations that are based on themes of illusions, the five senses and physics but in a very entertaining way. You will encounter using light, sound, smell and touch. This museum has something for everyone.

The Atomium is one of the most unusual buildings I have ever seen. It's a 100+ metre tall model of an iron crystal. Each 'iron atom' is a room and the 'bonds' contain escalators and stairs so you can travel between them, and enjoy the views. For novelty value this building gets 10 out of 10! When I visited it was being renovated but I believe the original contents of the museum are back in place now.
