Budapest has a very rich musical tradition and the Academy of Music is the flagship. Today, the building is an immense art nouveau landmark well worth seeing.

Sziget festival is held every August on the island in Budapest. Its a massive festival and has hundreds of acts every year from right across the musical spectrum. It goes on for seven nights though I really can't imagine what it would be like to try to stay the whole way through! definately worth going for some of it though.
