This was my favourite area of Cairo, I love all the old mosques as well as the coptic churches and the amazing bazaars.

Old Cairo

Such a fascinating place! Still partially walled-in this small area was the Roman foothold in Babylon, and formed the heart of the christian community of that era. Within a small stretch you can see the oldest Christian place of worship in Cairo, the first mosque in Egypt and the oldest synagogue too. Amazing.
