There are apparently 350 different routes to the top of Table Mountain ranging between the relatively sedate and the utterly perilous. We took one of the former and it took about 3 and a half hours to get to the top. The views and sense of self satisfaction made the ordeal worthwhile.

The journey here was almost as good as the destination. We drove on a lovely road past the twelve apostles mountain and upon arrival at the car park we had a 20 min walk through lovely plants on wooden walkways to the glorious beach that was our reward. watch out for nude people, that and the long-ish trek probably makes this not something for kids.

The Cape Point offers a natural beauty. The reserve offers an abundance of natural beauty, is home to various birds and mammals, including antelope, baboon, ostrich and zebra, as well as more than 2200 plant species. There is a restaurant and gift shop and information center too. Picnic sports are also available. It is very beautiful place. If you want a good view of the city better go to that place.
