Marina Beach

Marina Beach is one of the main tourist attractions in Chennai but is equally popular with locals. Unlike the unpleasantly rocky beach in Mumbai, it is fairly clean and sandy andd although swimming is not permitted, it is a great spot for sunbathing. The beach stretches from Fort st George in the north and is lined with colonial buildings as well as statues of Indian and British figures.
