This museum is located in Oak Park and is based by the birthplace of the writer. Your ticket will cost about 8 dollars and gets you into both. There are lots of artefacts and documents on display which look into the influence of Hemmingways ewarly life and upbringing on his writing. It's a really interesting place to visit and a must for all fans of the great man.

The Musueum of Science and Industry lives in a palatial looking building and has some great exhibits. Despite the name sounding a bit dry, it is actually a great place to take kids, the central hall especially is really good fun, with massive world war II bombers hanging from the ceiling, steam engines and other modern vehicles.

The Adler Planetarium is very nicely located looking over Lake Michigan. It is the oldest planetarium in the USA and brilliantly recreates the CHicago night sky. There is an excellent museum of astronomy as well as an indoor sun. A great day out for the whole family. Tickets are around $15 per person.
