A majestic building with a rich but short history as part of the criminal justice system. Don't just walk by, take a few moments to have a closer look!!

Its well worth taking a boat tour down the chicago river towards Lake Michigan. The commentaries are very good and give a great history of the town. You also get to see Chicago from a different angle. Wendella boats are reckoned to be the best tour operator, though there seem to be quite a few companies offering a fairly similar service. If you can see the river on st Patrick's day when the plumbers union turns it bright green, it's a sight you won't soon forget!

This is one of the most important buildings that Frank Lloyd Wright designed and one of the most important modernist buildings. It's beautiful and bizarre in equal measure.

This is an interesting way to find out more about our planet - from the space side of things. They have some excellent exhibits gear towards school aged kids and we saw a really great show while we were there. It is a great place to expand your mind and your view of the earth.
