A really lovely interactive park and museum, my kids just loved it here so much they were begging to come back again before our holiday in Chicago was over but we didn't have time :(

Fun little museum about the first black metropolis in the US. Kids can learn about how settlers came to be here, eating healthily and inventions, a great cross-section to keep everyone happy.

Museum of Science and Industry

We had such fun here at this museum, it's really interesting and there's so much to see and do it kept us (and the kids, but mostly us) occupied for most of the day! Loved the 'Earth Revealed' exhibit but the Fairy Castle stole the show for me I think.

Ernest Hemmingway Museum

This museum is located in Oak Park and is based by the birthplace of the writer. Your ticket will cost about 8 dollars and gets you into both. There are lots of artefacts and documents on display which look into the influence of Hemmingways ewarly life and upbringing on his writing. It's a really interesting place to visit and a must for all fans of the great man.

Museum of Science and Industry

The Musueum of Science and Industry lives in a palatial looking building and has some great exhibits. Despite the name sounding a bit dry, it is actually a great place to take kids, the central hall especially is really good fun, with massive world war II bombers hanging from the ceiling, steam engines and other modern vehicles.
