I prefer the greek name, which means 'finger of god' and these gorgeous trees are always one of the highlights of my visits to Corfu. I love their thin straight looks and every year make plans to plant some at home...although I never seem to manage it.

WE took a hike into the interior of the island and were amazed at the beauty of the flowers and plants on offer, we thought it would be too arid for anything to grow! Definitely worth missing out on a day at the beach for!

I absolutely adored the old town with its quaint cobbled streets, lovely little churches and the grand old fortress. Perfect for wandering, grabbing a drink or a bit to eat, or just for relaxing.

I'd never seen or tried this fruit before my holiday in Corfu and now i'm totally hooked! I ate so many, preserved in syrup or made into liquor at the distillery! I even brought some back with me....yay!

Lovely spot with palm trees fringing the beach and a wonderfully calm sea so you don't mind the kids having a bit of freedom, which lets you relax too.
