Sinarades is a really beautiful village in the middle west of Corfu . It's one of the larger villages that we went through on the island but is still very traditional traditional, with an old fashioned style of life and architecture. We stopped for a coffee in Stellios's Taverna and weht to the Aerostatos viewing point for incredible views of the coast. A really nice detour.

No one visiting Corfu should miss out on taking an extended walking tour of the Old Town. The streets are wonderfully higgledy piggledy and you should expect to get lost. The town displays clearly its varied history and influences with Norman, Venetian, French and British architectural elements being clearly visible. The surface area covered by the Old Town isn't particularly expansive but its labyrinthine nature means that you can spend a good couple of hours in it.

The Achilion is one of the more popular tourist sites in Corfu and if you make the mistake of arriving at midday, or in the early afternoon-like we did-you'll be battling with the hordes for a view of the displays. Despite this fact we really enjoyed the experience. The Achilion was the residence of an Austro Hungarian Empress and now is a museum of their art collection, beautiful reliefs and exquisite furniture. The well kept gardens are another great reason to visit.
