I bet you wouldn't guess there's a mummified saint in Corfu, but there is, that of the island's patron saint no less! The lovely bell tower can be seen from far and wide across the capital so be sure to head over and see the interior, you won't be disappointed!

This monastery is a great sight. It perches on the hill top above the resort of Paleokastritsa and is composed of a series of orange buildings which sit against a backdrop of wild flowers. Whilst the Monastery might feel like any other tourist attraction, it is still a very holy place and some discretion is required.

This church was opened in the 1839. The architect, Kearns Deane, provided his services free of charge, despite the fact that he was not a Catholic. This beautiful church has six fluted Ionic columns; they support a pediment upon which rests a statue of Our Lady by James Cahill of Dublin. The church is built of white lime stone. Inside sixteen fluted pillars line the nave and sanctuary. The 14th century statue on the altar, Our Lady of the Graces, is said to have miraculous properties. This church is very powerful where many people come here for prayers.
