We stayed in Benitses at the Karina Hotel - about 10minutes walk away. Accommodation is basic but adequate and there is a pool.

It's hard to see how this place got its five star rating, the service isn't amazing and the standards of cleanliness aren't high. We went off season and so it wasn't as expensive as at other times. I don't think we would have been able to stomach the peak season prices. As it was, we had a nice time, relaxing on the beach and enjoying the incredible views. There were a few times when we had to hold our noses because of the awful smell of the cesspool.

The Konstantinoupolis Hotel really surprised me.I'd heard terrible things, and whilst none of these were exactly untrue, it was a great place to stay. It's an old building, so sound insulation is terrible. The noise from the rest of the hotel was a nuissance, as was the sound from the street. That aside, there's definitely some charm to the hotel and its location at the heart of the old town- fairly close to the ferry terminal too - was excellent.

I stayed here last summer and don't think I would really recommend it. The grounds themselves are really beautiful, there's a nice stretch of beach and rooms are spacious. There are lots of amenities tennis courts, a gym, two swimming pools (one shaped like a palm tree). However, the service is pretty dire and cleaning standards are really poor. In addition, the buffet dinner is the same night after night.

The Divani Corfu Palace Hotel is one of the better 4 star hotels in Corfu. It is located about 15 minutes from City center and one can travel by bus to reach it, which is very conveniently available. The rooms are big and spacious with clean bathrooms. The staffs were fabulous and took every measure to make my stay comfortable. The buffet breakfast was very good and with plenty of options to choose from, it definitely had something for everyone. Though the exterior of the hotel looks dated and old, the hotel on the inside has a modern look to it. Good stay overall.
