What a pretty place! We went here for a quiet family holiday and totally loved it. The Moni Theotokou Monastery was really great to visit too. I would totally recommend to anyone who wants a pretty and relaxed holiday.

Beautiful (if you can ignore the planes that occasionally fly right by) views over a delightful bay, with a couple of inviting islands, we visited the Monastery of Vlakherna on the larger island by walking across the causeway. So fun!

We stayed in the resort of Paleokastritsa for the first time ever and really enjoyed it. The cultural highlight was the monastery, particularly the 18th century last judgement painting. A great change from just stagnating on the beach, but not so far as to be exhausting!!

My friends were annoying me so I took a day trip-which turned into an overnight trip-to Paleokastritsa. A lovely little village with good food, a pretty beach and a monastery. The monastery is lovely, calming and peaceful, it was lovely to just sit and read my book and not worry about anything.

This monastery is a great sight. It perches on the hill top above the resort of Paleokastritsa and is composed of a series of orange buildings which sit against a backdrop of wild flowers. Whilst the Monastery might feel like any other tourist attraction, it is still a very holy place and some discretion is required.
