Just a short drive from the town, on the Kapda Peninsula you can find a wealth of ruins that almost boggles the mind! Kyra, Lydia and Lissia are the highlights, some truly great things to see here.

Before we flew back to the UK we just had time to stop off at the Kapda Peninsula and i'm really glad we did. We got to go to the ruins of Lydia and Lissia but sadly ran out of time for Kyra. Great places, and the mystery surrounding them is that nobody knows when they date from.

Dalaman is great for exploring Turkey's history and Kaunos, whilst not the most spectacular, is set is a stunning location making for a great sights/walking combo for a day trip. There's several ruins as well as a lake which used to be the harbour in ancient times. It's not far from Dalaman either.

This is the area I always stay in when I go to the Dalaman area. The sand is perfect, the water clear and inviting and there's lovely little places to wander round like the roman ruins.
