Botanical Gardens

The Denver Botanical Gardens are a lovely spot and a great place to chill out and go for a long walk. There is a great conservatory for tropical plants with a real variety of different kinds. The Japanese garden is also very nice and I can really recommend trying to catch one of the concerts that happens here at irregular intervals.

Denver Zoo

Denver Zoo is one of the largest in the country and has nearly 700 different species of animal living in it. They are spread over a variety of different landscaped areas including the amazing Tropical Disney which is an entire rainforest ecosystem. The underwater polar bear viewing area was another favourite of mine.

Coors Field

The Coors Field is the home of the Rockies baseball team and I can thoroughly recommend catching a game here. Its a big modern arena and quite often doesn't sell out. So its easy to get a last minute ticket. A great atmosphere and fantastic day out all round.

Red Rocks

Red Rocks is a natural amphitheatre set amongst some incredibly rugged scenery which now forms what must be one of the best music venues in the world. Try and catch a concert here but if you don't, make sure you pay a visit and see the museum which explains the history of the venue.

Coors Field

Being a big baseball fan, I always try to make it a point of trying to catch a game when I am in a major league city. Denver has to have one of the nicest ball parks I have seen in Coors Field, with great views, even in inexpensive seats, and a great selection of food to munch on during the game.
