Guinness Storehouse

This a museum and old brewery with the theme of guinness beer. It is housed on multiple floors around a glass enclosure, mimicking the bottle. It is an enjoyable and educational way to spend the day and the view at the top is spectacular.

Dublin Castle

posted by DVC_Chris on 24 May 2009 at 04:00

Always interested in the history of Ireland, when I was visiting Dublin I felt a strong desire to visit Dublin Castle. Parts of it is over 700 years old, and has a strong significance in Irish history as it served as the seat of the Irish monarchy for many years. The tour is very informative about both the history of the Castle, and Ireland itself.

The Irish House Party

posted by DVC_Chris on 24 May 2009 at 02:39

I have always been a fan of Irish music, with songs like Danny Boy and the Wild Rover being staples in my house. That is why when I was in Dublin I am glad I found the Irish House Party. While it is still largely for tourists, they do a great job providing an authentic Irish music and dancing experience, not just a superficial one.

1916 Rebellion Walking Tour

posted by DVC_Chris on 20 May 2009 at 00:37

For those who have always been fascinated with the Irish quest for independence, the 1916 Rebellion Walking Tour is a must see while in Dublin. I first took the tour two years ago when visiting the city, and gave a good impartial overview of the facts of the rebellion, before taking the group around to the important buildings and sites. I learned a lot and would recommend it to anyone going to Dublin.
