Butler's House

posted by ghoffhants on 16 November 2010 at 13:24

We opted for this hotel as we were in town to catch a rugby game at the Aviva Stadium and it's really nearby. As it happened, it was a really lovely hotel. Rooms were nothing short of sumptuous, mine even had a four poster bed and an enormous tub. The breakfast was vast and the service impeccable. At the rates they're charging, Butler's house is pretty unbeatable.

Shelbourne Hotel

THE best hotel in Dublin, or so they say. I stayed here on lots of recommendations and it certainly lived up to these. Its located on St Stephen's Green in a beautiful 19th century building. Suites on the top floor command some great views and all in all the feeling is very traditional but efficient too. The Horse shoe bar is really famous and a great place to spot famous Dubliners.

Brooks Hotel

This is a really imaculate hotel right in the heart of Dublin. We didn't need to get transport anywhere as evreything was within walking distance. The rooms are well decorated and very comfortable. There's even a pillow menu which was a first for me. the staff are friendly and the breakfasts are absolutely enormous. Well worth the few extra pounds.

Hipster heaven! I found some really cool unusual pieces here that I couldn't wait to take back to show my friends. A really cool shop with vintage and up-coming designers mixed together.

Science Gallery

As total geeks my girlfriend and I couldn't resist a little look in here and it turned out to be one of the best places we went. It's so nice to see somewhere really focussing on the practical applications of scientific discovery and putting them across in an interesting and engaging way.
