Dirleton Castle and Gardens

Great for an informal day's sightseeing as the kids can all dash off around the castle and pretend they are in a battle and the adults can enjoy the place at a slightle less frenetic pace! Amazing castle and splendid gardens, all at a very reasonable price!

With two youngish boys this is just the sort of thing that they love, all scare tactics and upping thefear ante. Actually it was a fun and interesting place, and I was even a little frightened at times!!

White Water Rafting

It's quite a way to travel but this is really fun if you've got a car or are passing through. My family did a group raft day for my husband's 50th and we've never laughed so much. The scenery id breathtaking and the rafting is exhilarating.
