Still with that 'fresh out of the box' feel after its recent refurbishment, this is a fantastic museum. Loads to see and learn!

Such a peaceful place to go, and the farm is lovely with its watermill and great mix of animals. And if you want to explore further there's all sorts of stuff, go karts, trampolines, a railway and museum too!

Edinburgh's rich writing history is paid tribute to in this, my favourite museum in the city. It might not be the most exciting or the largest, but to me it's perfect.

My son was fascinated with the Camera Obscura and World of Illusion when we visited Edinburgh. He loved all of the holograms, eye puzzles, and other optical illusions. Plus, there were plenty of interactive exhibits which kept him entertained. Plus, it is a small museum, so it will only take a few hours to experience the whole thing.
