I love the seaside and it was great to learn more about the connection between fishermen and the sea here in this lovely town. Don't forget to walk along the promenade and see the city walls if you go here as well.

Housed in a 16th century convent is a wonderful display or artefacts from the region, many of them Roman. Really intersting, but the real charm is in the building itself, particularly the delightful cloisters where I could have stayed for hours and hours. At €2 you really can't go wrong!

Not a huge place but really interesting. The artefects are great and give a good history into the past of the region, particularly liked the mosaics as well as all the roman stuff. It's set in an old convent so the building are also a sight.

There is a good range of archaeological displays on show here with the highlight being a large Roman mosaic and the monastery cloisters.

Faro Archaeological Museum

Originally a church, and then a cork factory, the building that now houses the Faro Archeological Museum is almost 500 years old, and one of the most beautiful buildings in the city. The museum’s collection focuses primarily on the 16th and 17th century, but has information about the history for the entire area.
