My aging parents and I went to Geneva in the summer for a pleasant and peaceful holiday. The highlight was the river tour, 3 hours of smooth sailing allowing you to look at all the fabulous buildings along the banks of the Rhone. Definitely would recommend, particularly to anyone who's had enough of walking around!!

The Palais des Nations is the largest representation of the United Nations outside of New York. This building that houses thousands of diplomats has worked towards the betterment of the world. They offer tours of the building that last for about an hour depending on how busy it is when you are there. The tour is given in 15 different languages making it enjoyable for most visitors. A tip for visiting the Palais des Nations is to go on a Saturday. You will have more access to the building because many of the conference rooms will not be in use. I went thinking to go during the week to catch more action, but instead found out that you cannot go in most areas where meetings are taking place.
