A really old historical site, super cool to see somewhere so old! It's awesome what they know about how people used to live here hundreds of years ago. Also, it's an amazing setting.

The views from here into the gorge are jaw-dropping! And you get to see what life was like on the island back in the past before outsiders came through to change things. Great for the kids too!

Before settling down on the beach for a week my girlfriends and I decided to take a mini-tour of the island and see some culture and nice things, the best stop being Arucas. Delightful town with lovely architecture and a gorgeous botanical garden. The views aren't bad either.

I'd seen this helicopter on my previous trip and told my boyfriend...little did I know I was going to have a ride in it! What a good treat! We did the full island tour and the views from the helicopter were just out of this worlds, and the helicopter ride itself was nearly as exciting!

A stunning walk goes down the side of this canyon, it's lovely to get out and about and see some of the countryside. Look out for Cenobio Valeron, the cult/ritual site that belonged to the original inhabitants here. A trip down into the canyon offers a strange landscape with odd rocks and caves and unlikely plants.
