My son and I spent a good couple of hours here looking at all of the great things they have at the maritime museum. I loved the ancient gallery more, and particularly the history behind trading and how if affected the whole region. My son just loved the models, and the pottery Han Dynasty boat captured his imagination.

What an interesting area! Formerly a strongholding and then lately a slum, this is now a beautiful park and during the renovation several original features were found and preserved, like the south gate and two cannons! I loved it all and could have stayed all day!

Hong Kong is one of the most unique areas in all of the People’s Republic of China, because of the 99 years that it spent during most of the 20th century leased by the British. I always love learning about the history of places I visit and the Hong Kong Museum of History is a great place to do so, as it does a good job presenting the history of this island.
