Dim Sum

posted by dshea on 12 November 2010 at 16:55

No trip to Hong Kong is complete without ensuring that you try Dim Sum (and preferably more than once!) The national cuisine includes steamed dumpling, pork buns, spring rolls all served in a bamboo basket with lashings of chinese tea.

China Beach Club

posted by mfischer on 15 October 2010 at 11:59

This was a favourite of mine when backpacking around Hong Kong. It is a difficult city to find budget but good food outlets. The China Beach Club offers large portions and a western menu from a spectacular roof top overlooking Silvermine Bay.

Summer Palace (Island Shangri-La Hotel)

posted by ratechsoft on 5 June 2009 at 12:41

Summer Palace offers diners the epitome of great tasting traditional Cantonese cuisine in a refreshing environment. On entering the restaurant, guests are greeted by a large carved screen with a mythical scene of golden phoenix soaring in the clouds. Summer palace has lot of delicious simple home-made dishes and favorites like sharksfin, abalone and bird nest which are expertly prepared by Chef Lee Keung and his kitchen brigade. The list of wine provided complements well with the Chinese delicacies on the menu. Summer palace has seating for 180 in its main dining area and four private rooms. It is open daily for lunch and dim sum from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and for dinner from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. This hotel has undergone refurbishment in August 2008.

Riverview Café

posted by DVC_Chris on 11 May 2009 at 02:56

While Hong Kong Disneyland has many restaurants in the Magic Kingdom, there is only one table service restaurant, and that was my favorite one in the park, the Riverview Café. There is a very beautiful and relaxing view of the park’s Rivers of Adventure, and the cuisine, which takes the best from all over Asia, and is almost worth the admission to the park by itself.
