The Peak

I know it's touristy to do, but you really have to go up the Peak, the views are amazing and it's always nice to see the bigger picture of somewhere you're visiting. The tram is not for the faint of heart, but totally awesome as well.

I love city breaks but it's so nice to get out into the countryside too and this was a great park, amazing views and really nice and close to the public transport links. You have to walk the Dragon's Back Trail you'll be amazed.

AMAZING views, so much to see and what an exciting ride, you feel so tiny high up in the cable car watching the world stretch out below. Great thing to do, highly recommend it.

Po Lin Monastery

Best known for its giant buddha statue, the monastery itself is also worth a look, and not just for the fantastic scenery that surrounds it. Delicious lunch is followed by a walk along the Wisdom Path to the Heart Sutra.

A beautiful and surreal cable car ride, the longest in the world when it opened! I was a bit worried, having heard of all the problems with it but it was all ok, and the planes coming quite close were really the most terrifying part but I guess they've done it before!! The village at the top is beautiful, the views are great and the food up there some of the best I ate, or maybe that was just the glad-to-be-alive feeling!
