Amazing medieval castle built by the Venetians, really great place to go and visit to get a sense of one of the erstwhile rulers of the island. Really well preserved I couldn't imagine attacking it without any sort of machine power! The museum is interesting too.

If you're like me and want to see a bit of culture without too much effort then you have to go to Antimachia. Near the airport, there is a Venetian Castle as well as two byzantine churches. Perfect for a couple of hours and then off to the beach!

Just north of the airport, and sort-of on the way to Kos Town if you squint a bit.

Kos Town is the capital of the island and where the main port is situated. There is plenty to see and do here, including the Castle of the Knights of Saint John which is worth a visit. The better restaurants, cafes and bars are here.

The Castle of the Knights is situated on an island near the entrance of the Kos harbour. A bridge called as “Phoinikon" connects the castle & the inland. The castle was built with local stone as well as parts of ancient buildings from the ruin of the ancient city. On main gate one can see an Hellenistic frieze with masks and garlands. The interior has four circular towers.
