What a cool place! A huge complex great for a thorough wander plus interested ogling of the ruins. What a majestic spot this must have been at the height of the Roman Empire!

The mosaics of the House of Europe were my highlight here but it was so interesting to see all the other parts of the complex too. It's being beautifuly restored at the moment so i'm keen to go back and see it again.

It never ceases to amaze me that these things have just been standing for centuries, slowly getting more shabby, but still showing off the grandeur they were intended to inspire. Great place, has a wonderful peace to it.

The northeast part of Kos is great to wander around, maybe after dinner when you've eaten too much. There's so many ruins to look out for, all the old stonework is beautiful. My favourites were the Hellenistic temple and the huge gymnasium.

Just inland from Kos Town is the gorgeous site of Asklepion, a healing temple dedicated to Asklepius. The temple would have been huge judging from the reamins, and the views here are fabulous. Fantastic trip, only takes half a day definitely worth it when you're on holiday.

About 4km inland from Kos Town, easy by car although I don't know if you can get there another way
