Monument al Campesino

The image of this monument keeps popping up in my mind ever since I saw it in Lanzarote a few months ago. Made from water tanks the stark white farmer and his flock are testament to the farming history of the island. Inside you can see local craftspeople as well as eat in a beautiful farmhouse.

San Bartolome, in the centre of the island, you'll probably need to drive as we couldn't find any other way of getting to the interior

Cactus Garden

This was a delightful spot my mother had heard of. With hundreds of types of cactus and, oddly but it worked, a windmill and some other metally sculptures, the gardens are beautiful in the stark volcanic landscape.
