We took a day trip to this amazing village, in the path of the volcanic eruptions of Timanfaya. It's been voted Spain's prettiest village more than once and we adored it here. Stunning.

Timanfaya Volcano Park

I've never been to a volcano before, and was a little apprehansive. But it's AMAZING! The colours, the landscape, the slightly weird feel in the air, the diablo restaurant, I loved it all! If you only make one trip on your holiday in Lanzarote you should go here!

Montanas del Fuego

The highlight of my trip to Lazarote, I couldn't believe the landscape and how far removed it felt from the subathing and the all-inclusive resorts! The bus trip once you reach the park takes you on an amazing journey complete with history, commentary and stops at the most stunning views. The wonders don't cease at the end of the ride though, at the visitors centre you can eat food cooked right from the heat of the 'dormant' volcano!!

You can't go to Lanzarote and not visit the national park, based around the volcano. We joined an organised tour so we didn't get to see all that much but it was stunning nonetheless. Next time we're determined to hire a car and explore some more.

Every time I go to Lanzarote I discover more great things that cesar manrique did. this time it was the jameos del agua. what they have turned lava flows and air holes into is stunning, and the auditorium is simply breathtaking, i'd love to go see a concert there next time i visit.

where, when, how, web
it's on the road from Arrecife to Orzola, just north of Arrieta
