Kiti

I always like to keep up my Sunday worship on holiday which affords me a great chance to really get to know another church. This time I headed to Kiti for the Panagia Angeloktisti Church Sunday service. The church is beautiful, the 6th centruy mosaic is so well preserved, and the congregation were friendly.

St Lazarus Church

My mother and I loved this tranquil church, which we found in Larnaca the day before we left Cyprus, having stayed in a small village most of the holiday. The small museum is really interesting too, with examples of religions icons and other paraphernalia through the years.

Ayai Phaneromeni

I don't think i've ever been to anything so old! Amazing! The tombs here date back to 80BC and were made by the Phoenicans. The church is said to have healing properties although I didn't try the walk-three-times-round-and-leave-an-item-of-clothing myth out so I guess I can't complain i'm not 100% fit and healthy!

Church of St. Lazarus

This lovely church is a hidden gem, although lazarus's original tomb was moved to constantinople in 898, there's still much to recommend it, with a whole range of church styles to see. a lovely peaceful spot.

The Church Of Ayia Phaneromeni is very famous and very peaceful place. Many tourist visit this church. It is built next to two tombs cut out of a rock in 80 B.C. Even natives come here regularly to worship. The church conduct many useful programs for everyone. Many participate in the events for the service to the lord.
