I had no idea that this museum was so good until I started looking around as was astounded by all the famous works that I saw! I love Miro so this was particular highlight but there was one good surprise after the next as I walked around.

I can see why this is one of the most acclaimed modern art collections in the world, what a hidden secret in Lisbon! There are famous pieces virtually around every corner! And even more amazing, you can see them all for free! GO GO GO!

Queluz can be a good daytrip out of Lisabon if you've still got time left having seen Sintra and Cascais. It's the 18th century hunting lodge and palace of Pedro III. There are often concerts and exhibitions held here

I didn't know this until I went but this is meant to be one of the most important art museums in Europe, documenting development of painting on the continent. Set in fabulous buildings of the palace of the count of alvor, the convent of santo alberto and the chapel too, you can also enjoy these. The paintings and the rest of the collection including sculptures and other bits are really worth most of your attention though!

What an interesting art gallery! With everything from ancient to modern it's really exciting and the collection comes from all over the world too, as well as a astonishingly good european masters section. It's really nice to be able to see so many different styles all in one great place. On sundays it's freeeeee!
