This is the most memorable place from my holiday in Portugal. It was a gorgeous day, we bought a delicious lunch and ate it here overlooking the whole of Lisbon. Bliss!

My husband took me here for the day and it was stunning. The convent and chapel are the oldest buildings in Portugal which is incredible and then we spent a lovely afternoon on the beach there too. Defninitely worh escaping the city for a day and enjoy it out in the countryside.

Just under 60km south of Lisbon, good roads so it should only take about an hour, depending on time taken to leave the city

I love city holidays as there's so much to do but actually I love getting out for the day. This park is right in the centre of Lisbon but feels miles away. The viewpoint is popular, and well worth seeing but the highlight is the keil do amaral amphitheatre where I was lucky and caught a free concert by young musicians!

There's several buses that will take you there depending on where you travel from.

I think a trip to Lisbon needs a walking tour around the Parque Eduardo VII. Its incredibly well kept and the Belvedere at the top has some incredible views over the centre of town.
